About the Studio

A creative studio built around thoughtful problem solving.

One Two Nine exists for the businesses neighborhoods actually run on — the café that knows your order, the contractor who calls back, the salon booked three weeks out. Work that deserves better than a template.

The founder's story

One Two Nine grew out of years spent inside real operations — connecting the systems, tools, and people that make a business run, and watching how often good work was slowed down by clumsy technology. The pattern was always the same: owners doing everything right for their customers, while their website undersold them and their tools quietly created more work than they saved.

This studio is the answer to that pattern. Design that makes a small business look as good as it actually is, and systems that give the owner back their evenings — built by someone who has sat on the operations side of the table and knows what "it just needs to work" really means.

Why local businesses

Local businesses get the worst of both worlds: enterprise software priced and designed for someone else, or DIY templates that make every business look the same. We think the businesses that hold neighborhoods together deserve the same care in their digital presence that they put into their craft. That's the whole thesis.

What working together feels like

Calm, honest, and jargon-free. You'll always know what's happening, why it matters, and what it costs. We explain decisions in plain language, show work early, and treat your time like the scarce resource it is. And when we think you don't need something — we'll say so.

Studio Principles

Seven rules we don't break.

  • Listen before designing
  • Make technology understandable
  • Build around the real business
  • Design for customers and owners
  • Reduce friction
  • Protect performance and accessibility
  • Never add complexity for show

Next Step

See if we're the right fit.

Tell us what's not working. The first conversation is free, useful either way, and never a sales pitch.
